Increased visitor numbers have seen the car parks at Pentland Hills Regional Park full to bursting, with many visitors parking on surrounding roads, blocking local access. Action is needed to improve access to the regional parks and keep the surrounding roads safe for all.
City of Edinburgh Council is currently holding a public consultation on proposed changes including enhanced traffic management and parking controls at Pentland Hills car parks, as well as improvements to paths and creation of a warden role. The consultation closes on 4th December, and you can complete it here.
Your local Lib Dem team support calls for improved parking and the development of active travel options to allow as many people as possible to access our Regional Park easily and safely. We particularly support calls for improvements to existing footpaths from Currie and Balerno to the regional parks which will provide safe access without needing to drive and park.
